The architects directly elect their local representatives. These are elected for 4 years
Local councils include 7 members in each wilaya.
A representative of the Minister responsible for architecture attends the sessions of the local council. He can collect any information on the functioning of the council and the execution of his budget.
A structure close to architects
It is at the local council that the architect must register to exercise his profession and carry the title.
The main mission of the local councils of the order are to ensure the holding of the local table which lists all the architects, approved in architecture and architecture companies working on their competence territory.
Any modification involved in the professional life of the architect or the company (modification of address, mode of exercise, civil status, status, etc.) must be communicated by the architect to his local council.
Local advice has quality to defend the title of architect and ensure compliance with the code of professional homework. The violation of the rules of the code by the architect can lead to disciplinary sanctions pronounced by the chambers of discipline.
Local councils of the order can intervene in the organization of permanent training and more generally of the social promotion of architects.
They can finally contribute to the financing of organizations participating in the life of the profession.
From a general manner, local councils respond to the requests of architects and individuals.
Local councils are required to check every year at each registration the subscription of compulsory professional insurance.
In the event of a dispute between two architects, the local council is required to put in a conciliation procedure.
In the event of a dispute between an architect and his client, the same conciliation procedure is possible to the extent or the contract of control of the opening provides for this.
The interlocutor of the territorial bodies
Each local council represents the profession at the public authorities. He is the privileged interlocutor of local authorities.
All the presidents of local councils find themselves, at least once a quarter, at the seat of the National Council for information and consultation meetings on questions concerning the profession.
